About me

I’m the current Executive Editor of the Global Reporting Centre (GRC), a non-profit hub for global journalism collaboration, education, and research based at the University of British Columbia School of Journalism, Writing, and Media.

My work has been published with outlets including The Toronto Star, The Tyee, The Globe & Mail, Al Jazeera, NBC News, Mother Jones, PRX, and PBS NewsHour, and recognized with a number of awards, including two national Murrow Awards.

For the past ten years, I’ve helped shape, administer, and teach the Global Reporting Program (GRP), a graduate-level, interdisciplinary course at UBC that brings students together to lead a year-long global investigation in collaboration with major media partners.
